I started out the night excited, dubious, optimistic. And I dont know when She and myself split. It started with me, hands on my hips, laughing at them all because in all honesty, do they really call that dancing? As the first while wore through, it was like getting drunker and drunker. Suddenly everything is on an interesting angle and is trailing into everything. And then it wasnt me, it was all her. She was nothing short of a supernova, wearing white and black and all curves and heavy shoes and she was one of them. She was belting out lyrics to songs she didnt like, jumping up and down, casting an eye around. Swooning, pressing in the heat. She had her eyes on a few. The amazon, mostly. She hardly spoke to the girl whose skin was so cool. Rejection. She felt it in her gaze. For a moment, we were one. But a drink and a song later it was her show.
[and these are the lives we love to lead] :: DANCE ::
And thats what she did. Watching those she knew, treating all of them like her best friend with a hug, a ruffle of the hair, a shinning comment.
Five songs she liked.
Four times she brushed the boy that wanted her dead.
Three Drinks to cool the flames, to no avail.
Two girls under her watchful eye.
One night, one moment.
Her face split into a Daliah Grin, her voice hoarse, her legs aching. And she retired home, laid exhausted, panting heavily. And she slept. For hours and hours. Untill the sun beckoned my tired body up, voice scratchy, feet sore.
This is the life I like to lead.
