Alas! A ray of sunshine in my day!

The most wonderous of things has happened!

Minimum wage has gone up! OMG!

I get a whole extra 75 cents per hour and this excites me to no ends. I have breached 9 dollars an hour! I'm at 9.50!

Despite the fact that this means food prices will go up, I'm making more monies!

I intend to get a job at StarTek, probably in the T-Mobile department, Nikon if I'm lucky, and really, eleven dollars an hour, fourty hours a week, even if I just work it for two months to get my feet off the ground. Its either that, or the Plaza. I can always tell them that mom worked there back in the day.

I dont know that I'm hot enough to be a stripper though. =/
The city is on fire.

Everyone is so excited for the warm weather. Girls show off as much askin as they dare, flaunting bright colours and fake tans. Cyclists run cars off the roads and pedestrians off the sidewalks and skateboard boys swelter in their oversized jeans.

Everyone drives like a lunatic, trying to get from one place to the next so they can finish finish finish and go home.

I overhear ten million conversations about swimming and going to the cottage and the next party.

We are all happy. For now.

It is a happiness that is deserved, and it is like a refreshing calm before a storm.

A gentle breeze tickles my face as I fly by all of this, myself a prisoner to short skirts and tank tops.

We are all of us at the top of the world in this one gauzy instance, so frail and ready to disappear, not all there in the first place.

Tonight the city will be a madhouse. All the people will drown themselves in their substances, and everyone will forget that they have somewhere to be tomorrow. I'll fly by them all then, too, and listen to it all.

Because its one very frail very thin very almost not here and very about to disappear moment.
